On March 11, 105 (you read that right), Cai Lun showed his invention – samples of paper – to the Emperor of the Han Dynasty, Han Ho Ti. While archaeological evidence now suggests that paper was invented almost 200 years earlier, Cai Lun is still traditionally credited as the inventor of paper, as it was from this point that the use of paper saw its worldwide spread.
